Read on to find out more about simple things to help keep your kids happy and healthy…
Make Sure They Get Lots Of Sleep
One of the most obvious things is to make sure the child gets enough sleep. You may not know this but babies need on average 14 hours of sleep per day in order to optimise their growth and development. For nursery-age children this goes down to between 11 and 13 hours. Still more than some may think thought! Whether it is a longer lie, or naps throughout the day, try and make sure they get their recommended amount of sleep.
Make Exercising Fun
Of course you’re not going to get your toddler on a treadmill, but try and do sports with them on the weekends or do physical activities that are going to tire them out and keep them fit and strong.
Don’t Let Them Have Too Much Sugar
The main advice given by most professionals is to limit the sugar intake of your children. Too many kids these days are taking in far more sugar than there body is meant to and it is resulting in premature obesity and also tooth decay, among other problems. Of course, they are allowed sweets, but try and make it a treat and not a regular thing.
Teach Your Children About Handwashing
One of the easiest ways to try and avoid colds and the bugs that are always going around schools is to keep hands clean. People are always touching their faces with their hands and this is how disease and germs spread. Teach your children good handwashing routines as well as not to share things like cutlery and cups.
Obviously, every child is different and the parent is the best person to decide what is best for the child in most cases. However, these are some small things that will help you raise a strong and healthy child with great habits and a brilliant immune system.
